Krazykrops was born when Melissa, became an avid volunteer in Immokalee soon after Hurricane Irma occurred. A busy working Naples resident and even busier mom of 3, found herself bringing back tons colorful produce from Immokalee back home in order to make healthier meals for her kids.
The more she volunteered, the more opportunities she had to learn about the local people from Immokalee and their amazing stories of courage and tremendous work ethic. Through every story she learned more about where food came from and the insurmountable amount of resources it takes to get farm fresh produce to our table. She stood outside the farmers market one day watching the movement of produce and how much of it was being thrown away and asked vendors various questions. Within a week, she did her research and discovered the need for a market where someone gave No. 2, or ugly produce, a chance.
